2  ILLINOIS BUSINESS LEADER
CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE
As Chairman and Acting CEO/
President of the Illinois Chamber
of Commerce, I want to take a
moment—at this reflective time of
year—to share how deeply grateful
we are for your partnership, your
trust, and your commitment to
keeping Illinois strong.

The Illinois Chamber Board
of Directors and our dedicated
staff have been working in concert,
day in and day out, to advance
the interests of you, our members
across the great State of Illinois.
Whether through effective advocacy
in Springfield, expanding our
policy expertise, strengthening our
membership services, promoting
our members to overseas markets, or
elevating Illinois’ business reputation
nationally, we remain focused on
delivering the results you expect and
deserve.

During the holiday season,
I’m often reminded of the contrast
between Mr. Potter and George
Bailey in “It’s a Wonderful Life.” Too
often, the business community is
unfairly portrayed in the same light
as Mr. Potter—cold, self-interested,
and disconnected. But we know the
truth: the vast majority of Illinois
businesses are much more like
George Bailey’s Building & Loan—
rooted in community, driven by
service, creating opportunity, and
helping families and neighborhoods
thrive.

Our state is fortunate to have
employers like you—leaders who
invest, innovate, hire, and give back.
We are blessed by your membership
and honored to represent you.

On behalf of the Illinois
Chamber Board and staff, thank you
for all you do for Illinois. We look
forward to continuing our work
together to build a stronger, more
prosperous future for our wonderful
Land of Lincoln.

Happy Holidays!
DAN WAGNER
