CHAMBER HOSTS ROUND TABLE WITH 
LEADER FROM SPAIN
December 2, 2025 | The Illinois Chamber was honored to host a roundtable 
with Mr. Martín Tobalina, Deputy Minister for Economic Affairs of the Castilla 
y León Region of Spain. This event brought together an exceptional group of 
leaders, including Chamber’s Board Member Roberto Ramírez (Tidy), mem-
bers Cesar Rolon (World Fashion Festival), Caitlyn Abbey (ISA), Chris Straley 
and Alec Gramonc (CoreSite), and Scott Fetters, Executive Director of partner 
incubator 2112. 
DIPLOMATS MEET WITH GOVERNOR  
OF ARGENTINA
December 5, 2025 | We were honored to participate in a meeting with Gov-
ernor Gustavo Sáenz of Salta, Argentina, hosted by Consul General Lucas 
Gioja at the Consulate General of Argentina in Chicago. This brought together 
political leaders, diplomats, and business executives from across the Midwest 
to explore investment, trade, and collaboration. Governor Sáenz highlighted 
Salta’s commitment to stability, legal security, and predictability—key pillars for 
attracting foreign investment.
CELEBRATING LAURIE SILVEY
December 12, 2025 | Celebrating Laurie Silvey and her remarkable six years 
of leadership as State Chair for Illinois ESGR! Laurie completed her term on 
September 30th and proudly passed the flag to the new chair on December 
10th. She is pictured with incoming chair Dave MacDonna and National ESGR 
Chair John F Sampa at the Pentagon 9/11 Memorial during the Wreaths Across 
America ceremony, an inspiring moment to mark the transition! All of us at 
the Illinois Chamber thank you for your outstanding service, commitment, and 
lasting impact on the Illinois ESGR community.
HERNANDEZ ON PANEL TO DISCUSS 
DATA PRIVACY LAWS
December 16, 2025 | Ramiro Hernandez with the Illinois Chamber’s 
Government Relations team was honored to join an insightful panel discussion 
on the state of national data privacy laws and their increasing importance from 
both a consumer protection and economic development perspective. 
The event was hosted as part of The Council of State Governments’ 2025 
National Conference in Chicago. Ramiro joined a distinguished panel of 
policymakers from Illinois and Canada, including IL State Representative Kim 
du Buclet - 5th, in addition to several privacy law experts from the private 
sector. Thank you to Chamber Member Lenovo for hosting this event.
