IBC ROUNDTABLE ON TRADE
May 9, 2025 | The Chamber’s International Business Council, in partnership 
with the U.S. Commercial Service, held a roundtable on Trade Opportunities 
with Southern Europe at Duane Morris LLP earlier this week. We would like 
to express our deepest gratitude to our host, Duane Morris, for their generous 
support and hospitality. Their collaboration was instrumental in making the 
roundtable a tremendous success.
STRENGTHENING GLOBAL 
CONNECTIONS IN HEALTHCARE
May 19, 2025 | This past week, Illinois Chamber of Commerce President Lou 
Sandoval  had the distinct honor of meeting with a distinguished Taiwanese 
medical delegation from National Taiwan University Hospital. The event, host­
ed by Director General Dennis Lai of the Taipei Economic & Cultural Office  in 
Chicago, offered a meaningful opportunity to discuss potential collaborations 
and innovations in the healthcare sector. These types of international engage­
ments are essential for fostering global partnerships that support economic 
growth, medical innovation, and cultural exchange. 
SANDOVAL TOURS SECURITY FACILITY
May 20, 2025 | Illinois Chamber President Lou Sandoval recently had the plea­
sure of visiting Perimeter Security Solutions where he met with Founder Mike 
Saltijeral and toured their state-of-the-art facility and newly launched Innova­
tion Center. Perimeter Security Solutions is a shining example of the innova­
tion, resilience, and leadership that defines Illinois-based businesses. 
CHAMBER 2.0 VISION FOR THE FUTURE
June 3, 2025 | Illinois Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Lou Sandoval 
and Board Chair Dan Wagner were recently featured on the Business Beat Pod­
cast in a dialogue with Greg Bedalov, CEO of Choose DuPage. They discuss the 
future of Illinois business, leadership, advocacy, and collaboration across public 
and private sectors. We’re grateful for the opportunity to share our Chamber 
2.0 vision for a stronger, more balanced and competitive Illinois.
INTERMODAL FACILITY TOUR
June 13, 2025 | Earlier this week, the Illinois Chamber’s Andrew Cunningham 
had the pleasure of participating in the Illinois State Freight Advisory Council 
(ISFAC) summer tour at the CenterPoint Intermodal Center in Joliet/Elwood. 
It was a tremendous opportunity to visit the Union Pacific Global 4 Intermodal 
facility in Joliet, where the 800-acre terminal exceeds 700,000 container lifts 
annually.
