CHAMBER ATTENDS SUMMIT
July 11, 2024 | The 14th annual rail and maritime summit was hosted at the 
Union League Club of Chicago. Infrastructure Council Director Andrew Cun-
ningham had the pleasure of being in attendance and spending the day with 
many of our great members. Thank you to the Illinois Soybean Association 
for the kind invitation and their work on behalf of Illinois farmers. Chamber 
member Canal Barge Company, Inc. CEO Merritt Lane talked about the issues 
most pressing for transportation leaders. Michael O. Miller, CEO of Chamber 
member Genesee & Wyoming Inc. gave 5 lessons for a better tomorrow and 
was the recipient of the Diolkos award.

PARTNERSHIP WITH INDONESIA 
August 7, 2024 | Many thanks to Consulate General of Indonesia for meeting 
with the Illinois Chamber today. We look forward to our continued partner-
ship! The Chamber met with Indonesian Consul General Listyowati to discuss 
the US-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and what it means for 
Illinois businesses, farmers, and manufacturers. Photo from left to right: Indo-

SANDOVAL MEETS WITH SENATORS 
DURBIN AND SENATOR DUCKWORTH
May 13, 2024 | Chamber CEO Lou Sandoval met with the Illinois Senate 
delegation to discuss transportation and defense appropriations to Illinois and 
garnered support for foreign partnership investments and workforce impact 
issues in Illinois.
CUNNINGHAM ATTENDS 
GROUNDBREAKING IN PLAINFIELD
June 25, 2024 | Infrastructure Council Exec. Director Andrew Cunningham 
had the pleasure of representing the Chamber at the groundbreaking of the 
143rd Street East Extension in Plainfield. The 143rd St East Extension involves 
the construction of a new road between IL 59 and IL 126 as well as a new 
bridge over the DuPage River. This project has been recognized by the Federal 
Highway Administration, Illinois Department of Transportation, Will County, 
and the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning(CMAP) as a critical com-
ponent for regional mobility.
